If I can help somebody, as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain -Mahalia Jackson
Faith, Family and Community is first in my life. I love spending quality time with my family and friends. Making memories that will last a lifetime and also learning and growing from one another.
I have been working in my community for many years starting as a youth. My mother instilled in me the importance of servitude. I have volunteered with many organizations ranging from The Food Bank of United Way.
I'm passionate about the youth, our seniors and the community as a whole. I currently volunteer for Senior Services of SE Virginia, where I teach seniors technology skills to help them stay connected to family and their community. I also volunteer my time at Hope for Suffolk's Youth Farm Program, a hands-on learning experience where teens learn about agriculture while helping feed the community.
In my professional life, I work for a Financial Institution as a Senior Analyst Manager of Customer Experience in the mortgage division of the bank. I have been in this industry for over 13 years. I love what I do because I make a difference every day to the organization and their shareholders making sure my values and goals align with the company.
If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like a noonday. Isaiah 58:10
